Extraordinary PCD Tools are technologies (tools, products, protocol) that were not previously available commercially or otherwise.  Innovative PCD Tools and Techniques are things that facilitate embedding support into other software, act as agents to deliver decision support at the time of need, integrate disparate end-user software, help anticipate and resolve performance challenges, use general inference techniques to eliminate complexity, reduce the need for conventional IT support, replace more conventional means of support, and the like.  These can be new components of existing PCD Tools and Techniques if they are sufficiently unique.

Excellent examples of Extraordinary Performance Centered Design Tools are those that facilitate creating and integrating performance support environments, such as alternate interfaces, merging disparate systems (via interface integration, middleware, agents, and the like); capturing and disseminating business processes and best practices; improving business processes; embedding “wizards” and other productivity enhancers into existing systems; providing decision support and workflow support; providing resources to quickly troubleshoot problems, answer customer questions, and the like.  Any tool that clearly stands head-and-shoulders above the rest in its category - or that defines a unique category -  for enhancing the creation of EPSS / Performance-Centered Solutions is a candidate for an Extraordinary PCD Tool.  Hardware and hardware devices that fit this description are also candidates.

Product/Component Detailed Description: Intrique Learning Engine is a Learning Management System that allows users to enhance their performance in the following areas:
  1. For Students
    1. Identifying weak areas/topics for students throughout their studying effort
    2. Allowing them to learn where they have gone wrong and then redo the exercise to score better marks
    3. Increase their performance in terms of confidence for the real examinations
  2. For Parents
    1. Parents need not waste time in pouring through a student's home work book to determine if he/she is doing well as all the reporting is already online and results can be deduced at a glance.
    2. Parents can help with remedial work or additional tutoring if a student is found to be persistently weak in an area.
    3. Parents know with confidence that their child is doing well or otherwise.
  3. For Teachers
    1. Teachers do not need to waste time in compiling quiz/exercise/exam simulation papers as all the resources are now available online.
    2. Teachers are able to share the question pool and able to draw the expertise from other teachers all around the country.
    3. Teachers find it easier to see who's weak in what areas at a glance from the class based and student based reporting system.
    4. Teachers are able to use the Intrique Learning Engine to help with the learning process as learning and teaching tools are bundled with the portal for teachers.

Product use: Intrique Learning Engine is used by students to:
  1. Progress ahead in their studies on their own if they are brighter students.
  2. Revise what topics that have been taught at school for the day.
  3. Catch up on studies if they have been left behind or learn at a slower pace in class.
  4. Gain familiarity with the actual examination environment so that they can perform better in the exams.
  5. Gauge their level of understanding of a certain topic.
  6. Track their progress as they go through their studies.

Parents of the students are able to:

  1. Check on the performance of the child.
  2. Check on the weak learning areas of the child.
  3. Use the tool to obtain further remedial solutions if the need arises.
